Photo shoots at Colonial Zone, Dominican Republic

The Colonial Zone or the also named Colonial City, is the oldest urban center of the City of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Founded in 1502. It has many historical places with elegant architectural attractions, along with its buildings and streets dressed in cobblestones resulting in a unique photographic image. Due to its great importance in Dominican and world culture and history, the colonial zone is one of the places preferred by Dominicans when choosing to do a photo session due to its ancient touch and European style in a point of the Caribbean. .

Among its ideal historical places for a photo shoot, the most recommended are: Alcázar de Colón, Baluarte el Conde and Calle el Conde, Iglesia Primada de América, Fortaleza Ozama, Ruinas de San Francisco, Parque Colon, Reales Atarazanas, Casa de Bastides, Royal Houses and Padre Billini Square.

In most places in the colonial zone it is not necessary to pay to use their space for a professional photo session. There are few places that do have a cost of RD$1,800 pesos or more for each place. This is the case of the Ruins of San Francisco, the Ozama Fortress and the internal part of the Alcázar de Colón. To reserve the photo session in one of these places, you must go a few days before the session to the offices located in the Ministry of Culture, who provide proof of permission to carry out the photo session.
